Skeleton Talk Poem: Rhyming Poem About Bones

This poem is a freebie and positive feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much! This poem is a rhyming poem designed to provide short facts about bones while building fluency. Kids love poetry and learning about new things using a variety of tools. I use poems during our literacy and apple academic centers. I also made a large one on chart paper for students to read and practice. I hope you enjoy this fun poem, perfect to use during the fall or nutrition/bones unit.

Our Human Bones

This is a great starter to teaching young children the names of our bones. I have used this with my preschool aged children to introduce them to their bodies. I like to have a plastic skeleton hanging in my classroom for them to label during centers or free time for extra practice. Remember to have a Key visible for them to check their work. This could be a great October lesson during the Halloween festivities. * quick note for some reason in the preview everything seems jumbled but when open

Human Body Unit

I have compiled lesson plans for 5 out of the 10 day unit. There are instructions for the other five days of the unit but with less detail than the first five. The students are interacting with the reading along with incorporating science into the lesson. The books are not cited, but they are the ones that I chose to use for lower level elementary. Feel free to choose your favorite reading to replace the ones in the lessons.

This lesson can be used for elementary ESL learners or for older beginner/SIFE students. I actually used a lot of these materials for an 11 grader who had never been to school and had the signs of a possible learning delay.
