I have been an educator for over 20 years. During that time I have taught many age/grade levels ranging from 2 year olds to 4th grade in both the public school and private school sectors. I have taught as a general education teacher in a co-taught class that included students with varying disabilities for three years. I have also had many years experience with homeschooling my own children. I am proud to say that I am the 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year at my school.
For the last 6 years I have taught at schools that focus on teaching through Project Based Learning(PBL). This style of teaching is my passion. I believe that children learn best when they can relate school teachings to real life. PBL naturally lends itself to a very hands on way of teaching and learning. My philosophy of teaching has always modeled the Chinese Proverb that says: "I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand."
