Wisdom of the Aged

It was my pleasure to teach for almost thirty-five years before retiring. My favourite classroom assignment was the two/three split.

I don’t have a catch word for my teaching style. I simply believe that my role as an educator is to provide a learning environment where each child feels safe to take risks with their learning. I tell students that it is my job to give them work that is “just right”. “Is it too hard, too easy, or just right”, I ask individuals every day and I design their work according to what they say.

2015 - present Island Illustrators Society juried member Executive member of the Island Illustrators Society Webmaster of the Island Illustrators Society 2016 Member of Advisory Panel for Nelson Education I was a member of the Advisory Panel for the Kindergarten Science Program. 2013 -2015 British Columbia Teachers Federation Representative to BC Ministry of Education Science Curriculum Revision Team Grades K-2 I was one of the team of teachers representing the teachers of the BCTF working with the Ministry of Education on revising the K to 9 Science Curriculum.
