TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 3 1/2 years in public school, substitute taught for 1/2 year, and am now currently teaching at a homeschool co-op MWF. In public school I taught 9th and 10th grade English, I have subbed in EVERY grade level, and now at the homeschool co-op I teach Jr. High girls Bible, 9th grade reading, 8th grade reading, leadership, 6th grade grammar, 8th grade physical science, and high school art. It's been an adventure for sure!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Bobbie Coleman Future Teacher Award: This is an award given to a senior English licensure major who, during their classroom and student teaching performance, shows outstanding promise in the profession. Ten English licensure majors student taught and graduated in 2012. Most Spirited Teacher: Along with two colleagues, I was named Most Spirited after Homecoming Spirit Week. I feel that students appreciate when their teachers are involved and excited about their activities. Plus, it's a whole lot of fun! Teacher MVP: Each week the football team named 2-3 teachers as their MVPs for the week, choosing teachers that meant a lot to them, and who they appreciated for their hard work in the classroom and for their interest and investment in them as people. This is perhaps the most important recognition I've ever received!
