TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been in public schools, private schools, and tutoring homeschool classes. I've written several curricula for English Language Arts (mainly focusing on reading and writing).

MY TEACHING STYLE

Interactive with the text. I like to give students unique yet educational ways to interact with a text. They practice important skills (supporting claims, structuring essays, creative writing, etc) but in a way that really helps them interact and engage with a text.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Graduated Magna Cum Laude, studied under children's author Dr. Heather Bouwman for a study abroad program in England, accepted to teach English immersion in Italy in the summer

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Homeschooled from kindergarten through high school, PSEO, community college, and finally a teaching license in 5-12 English Language Arts. I'm hugely respectful of all the different choices families make in how they will educate their children (there are multiple options because not every option works for everyone), and I want to do what I can to support all these options.
