Experienced teacher in the public high school setting. I have taught courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy/physiology to students in grades 9-12. I work with students of all ability levels, but I have a passion for working with students receiving exceptional education services as well as ELL students. I have written curriculum professionally and have vast experience in instructional design.
Building relationships with students in the classroom is paramount to me. I love to find out what students are passionate about and use that information to further their studies of science. I am a "warm demander." expecting a lot of my students while making sure they know that I am there to help them succeed. Student-centered activities are powerful and engaging.

I love teaching and the constant desire to find new and different ways to engage my students. Facilitating "lightbulb moments" is what I love most. When I'm not teaching, I'm usually looking for new recipes to try in the kitchen, spending time with family, or trying to sneak in a few moments of Nintendo Switch gameplay.
