In 2020, after one of the most unprecedented world shut downs occurred, Nia Ladson birthed her plan to better support teachers and leaders as well as create connection nationwide across communities. The goal was to reach and support as many teachers and leaders in urban spaces across the nation that service predominately black and brown students. Nia Ladson has been in education for nine years. Her teacher training comes from the years of informal work with her mother in schools and her formal training within Baltimore City Public Schools and the formerly Urban Teachers program (now City Teaching Alliance) based out of Baltimore, Maryland. Through this program she received a ME.d. in Special Education and a ME.d. in Elementary Education from Lesley University. Additionally, she holds a ME.d. in Educational leadership from Loyola University Maryland. Additionally, she is currently pursuing her ED.d. from the illustrious Drexel University in Educational Leadership and Management with a focus on Educational Administration and Superintendency. Nia has also taught graduate students in partnership with the Urban Teachers Program as an adjunct professor for the last 7 years at Johns Hopkins University and now American University. She is certified in both Elementary and Special Education as well and holds both an Administration I and II license in the state of Maryland and her Teacher and Administration Certification in the state of Texas. Nia brings both her years of experience in the classroom and in schools as well and her educational pursuits and knowledge to the work that she does every day. She previously served as the Manager of Curriculum and Achievement K-8 ELA, and the Content Leader for 3-10 ELA Academic Recovery (All Grades) for all of KIPP Texas and now is the Senior Director for Secondary Humanities Curriculum and Instruction (G6-12) at KIPP Texas Public Schools.
