This lesson investigates how Kehinde Wiley and a few other artists investigate identity through modern day portraits. It then explains two variations of a lesson where students are challenged to create portraits based off of the work they have seen.
This assuagement is easy for any student! It quickly outlines how to look for artists public accounts, or "handles" on a few of the most commonly used social media platforms.
Can be shared with students individually, or copy and pasted into a longer show. Students can offer feedback to peers in comments sections of slides. Great for Virtual critiques!
