TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a Google Certified Educator with nearly fifteen years of experience teaching Social Studies in grades 7-12 in some of the highest achieving public schools in America

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that students should be thinking critically every single day. My classes are centered on essential questions, enduring understandings, and overarching historical themes, and they challenge students to see the relevance of past events reflected in the current reality of the world around them. I design my American history and social studies lessons with an eye towards constructivism, project-based learning, and student choice. I like to tell my students that it makes me happy when they leave the room with their brains hurting just a little bit.
