TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Welcome to my shop! I'm so happy you are here! I have experience as an elementary teacher (K-5), teacher mentor, guest teacher and mom. The belief that ALL students can be creative thinkers guides all that I do. I am certified to teach gifted education and have my ESL endorsement. Elementary Math and integrated unit planning are my favorite subjects to teach. There is a little something for everyone in my shop! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to make my students self-directed through activities and units that are engaging and make students want to be involved in the material. Differentiation is also a goal of mine. I want to reach all levels of learners through scaffolding my lessons.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was honored to be chosen to teach The Daily 5 and Cafe to my fellow teachers and others in the district. I was also asked to be a Teacher Mentor and had have had two student teachers and a constant stream of teaching students from the local college. I love bringing up the next generation of teachers!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with a Masters of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University. I have an undergraduate degree in English and Rhetoric with a minor in Cultural Anthropology. I am certified to teach Gifted Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy reading, knitting and the arts. I am involved in my local mom's group as Craft Mom. I really love making crafts for myself and my family. I love to teach new skills to those around me. I guess I chose the correct profession :)
