My teaching experience began ten years ago as a preschool teacher! I worked with children ages three-to-five teaching through play. I realized the importance of early education and determined how I could help children succeed before they enter primary school. After five years of teaching students, I begin training teachers on effective reading practices with children under five. I realized reading to my students impacted their lives and sparked their love for learning. I feel in love with education all over again! I currently teach first grade at a charter school and look forward to making an impact now with my interactive reads here on TPT!
My teaching style is student-motivated and fun. I like to focus on how to differentiate lessons for my students while incorporating dance and music. My style focuses on independence, so I live by the gradual release of responsibility method (I do, We do, You do).
Teacher of the Year Award: 2011, 2015, 2016, 2018 Award for Excellence in Teaching: 2018 Most Influential: 2018, 2020
I earned an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Curriculum Developer minor. I have my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and my Masters in Education (K-2) with a Dual Language minor.
