TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for over 12 years as a literacy specialist. I am also an education consultant. I have been writing educator guides for a publishing company to accompany picture books and middle grade novels for the past 5 years. I am a mother of four and I have also homeschooled one of our children. In my "spare" time, I tutor students in grades K-12. I am also attempting to learn Mandarin Chinese with my family. No, seriously. I can now order take out in Chinese. Not bad after studying for a year. :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe all students have the capacity to learn. It is our job, as teachers, to help every student be successful by using everything in our teaching repertoire to assist them toward that goal. I often use music, movement, art, and and games to reach my students.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a National Board Certified Literacy Specialist
