By The Illumination Factory 
By The Illumination Factory I have been teaching for 12 years. For 9 of those years, I taught second grade. For 3 years I have spent my time out of the classroom as a reading coach and most currently an instructional coach in all K-5 classrooms, supporting teachers in their instructional practices.
I believe that teachers need to be knowledgeable in the continuum of learning- where students are coming to them and where they need to go. I believe that teachers need to establish routines and procedures to develop a classroom environment that best supports the important learning that happens!
I have worked with the Blumberg Center at Indiana State University to develop brochures on reading behaviors. I have had the privilege of working with Lola Schaefer, children's author and writing professor, in my classroom. I have also attended many trainings and workshops with Stephanie Harvey, Carl Andersen, Fountas and Pinnell, and Debbie Miller through the All-Write Consortium in Northern Indiana.
