Comprehension Graphic Organizer- Story Elements

This product is a two page document to be used in reading workshop when studying narrative texts. The graphic organizer is designed to fit with common core standards in reading literature: grade 1. Teacher and students would use sticky notes for 'note- taking' to apply to the graphic organizer.

The first document is an 8 1/2 x14 legal size version graphic organizer for story elements. The kid-friendly language on this graphic organizer allows children to easily understand the flow of a typical narrative story to aid in their comprehension. The large version allows for easy visibility by all students during teacher modeling. This document could easily be printed and laminated for use over and over again with sticky notes from different texts read aloud.

The second page of the document is the smaller 8 1/2 x 11 version that looks exactly like the larger version. This document could be used in guided reading groups or independent reading to support students in the gradual release of responsibility. This document uses the typical 3x3 sticky notes.
