TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Over the past 13 years of teaching I have worked with a variety of ages, but my love is definitely the high school classroom. I currently teach Freshman and Honors Freshman English.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is driven by high expectations backed with a belief that my students can and will achieve them. My kids know that I'm tough, but they'll also be the first ones to tell you that I'll over a hug and a word of encouragement if they need one. I strive to make English accessible. I have an extensive background in drama and I try to integrate that into the materials that I create. I also try to target student interests and intrinsic motivations while also pushing them to achieve more than they ever thought they could.
