I have been teaching since 2001. I taught 1st and 2nd grades as a looping teaching. Nothing can compare to the relationships built over two years! After two rounds of looping I moved to 4th grade as test scores became a major focus. My principal wanted a strong teacher who could engage kids and have it show in the scores. I was lucky, though, because I got to teach some of my sweeties from 1st and 2nd grade again! Four years later, I moved to the middle school, again to improve scores through engaging teaching. And again, back to elementary school on the same side of town as my middle school so that we could increase engagement and test scores there.

I love hands-on learning whenever possible, but sometimes direct instruction is needed.
