Now a Kindergarten Inclusion teacher, I've been teaching for over 20 years, in every grade level from Pre-K through 6th. I began my career as a Special Education Resource Teacher, and that shapes how I differentiate in my classroom every day. I teach 20-25 kinders a year, several of whom have IEPs.
I believe strongly in developmentally appropriate, engaging, hands-on learning. Children do a lot of exploring in my classroom. I strive to help each child find what he or she is best at, and I have a great passion for teaching reading. I believe in differentiation for all, mindfulness in the classroom, and strive to be culturally responsive. As the mother of a young learner myself, I approach every classroom situation the way I want my son to experience it.
