Teaching Treks

I've always enjoyed making my own teaching resources. I've taught as a classroom teacher for many years, Support Teacher for students with learning difficulties and as a Teacher Librarian.

I don't believe there is a 'one style fits all' solution to teaching and learning. I do believe there is a need for a balance of direct explicit instruction and guided enquiry learning that must be flexible enough to meet students' needs. I also believe curriculum should be engaging and part of my job is to enthuse the kids. My approach is always to find out what individual students know and work from there to ensure each child experiences success in my classroom.

Over the years I have learned to really enjoy study (definitely didn't appreciate it as a teenager!) and have completed a Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Education, Masters Degree in Education and more recently a Graduate Certificate in Applied Science (Information Literacy).
