I have taught in the public school for 25 years, which means I have taught in 2 different centuries, and I like this one best! I have taught in Madison, MO, Joplin, MO, Neosho, MO for 18 years and now for a private school. 6th grade self-contained, 6th and 7th Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies. 3rd-6th grade virtual learning coach. The most experience I have is with 8th grade English Language Arts.
I currently teach 1:1 and am beginning to "flip" my instruction. I love this style best. I feel it gives the student more ownership in their learning.
Last year I was selected as "Certified Staff of the Month" in January. The district I teach in has about 300 certified teachers. I am also a new teacher mentor and enjoy this very much.
I graduated from Ozark Christian College in 1993 and from Missouri Southern State University in 1994. Joplin, Missouri. I am certified Elementary K-8 and Library Media Specialist.
I am a single mother of one beautiful 21 year old daughter. We have a rescue beagle/dachshund named Bobo. I love to teach, read, and develop plans and activities for my classes. I also love growing flowers and plants. My guilty pleasure is chocolate, coffee and sleep. :)
