With more than 13 years of experience teaching Language Arts in large public high schools, I understands how hard it is to get students engaged in requirements like grammar and Shakespeare. That's why I've gathered feedback from my students, which have included regular 8-12 graders as well as ELL, At-Risk, and Honors students. This feedback has allowed me to design, reshape, and perfect content that engages all levels of learners.
I have made it my personal challenge as a teacher to create lessons and activities that hook students and make learning fun. For this reason, I consider my teaching style Gamification. If I can turn something into a game for the students, I do it, and I don't sacrifice learning, feedback, or tangible outcomes to get it done.
