I taught 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra for 10 years. After that, I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade financial literacy for two years.
I have a laid back, structured style of teaching where students feel comfortable learning. I want students to appreciate the process of learning and to realize there are multiple ways to justify their reasoning. I also strongly believe in teacher wellness. Give the kids as best of an experience that you can provide. At the end of the day leave your work at school and take care of yourself. Spend time with family, exercise, and for crying out loud, be a human!
Teacher of the Year, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Academy, May 2009
I have a Bachelors Degree (Math/Social Sciences 4-9). I also have a Masters Degree (Educational Administration 7-12).
Teaching has been a blessing to me. I have met so many wonderful teachers and students. I love my family (wife and 2 children). Please, please take time for yourself and your family. All the best!
