TEACHING EXPERIENCE

RSP teacher 16 years. Learning Center/Reading Lab Director 5 years. Math for at-risk students 5 years. Student Study Team Member 11 years. Whole school academic and teaching strategies support; 16 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Students are expected to develop internal motivation skills in the RSP lab. Every student understands their individual goals and are given tools to access information and achieve those goals. Teachers and aides work with students supporting them with technology, ideas, guidance on projects and reports, creating rubrics and assessing assignments. Direct teaching is provided as needed.

District Award: Monte Award presented by union. District Award: Above and Beyond Award presented by Psych. Services. Special Ed. Award for outstanding IEP preparation.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Graduate of Cal State San Bernardino 2002. Bachelor of Arts with Special Ed Credential coursework. Training in district: CAASPP administrator, Renaissance STAR reading and math assessment, CELDT administrator, Student Study Team Leader, PDT secretary, Grant Writer, Department Chair 14 years.
