Steve's store of Good Stuff

Two years ago, I retired after teaching algebra and computer applications to kids 7-12 grade. I even wrote a book (available at lulu.com with algebra lessons I used to make algebra MUCH EASIER if taught the correct way (I hate the textbooks I've seen and just used them as a reference as to which skills to make sure to cover).

I used handouts so kids could read the directions, look at the steps illustrated with pictures and arrows, and go at their own pace so the fast kids wouldn't get bored from waiting for the slow kids and the slow kids could read and reread the directions as many times as needed to do the assignments.

I have a Master's degree in Education, having done my work for it on creating computer programs to teach math.

I have (at least for now) a FREE web site with math games for Kindergarten to Algebra: www.conquestmath.com The games may be considered "old" for kids these days but I enjoyed playing them and they have pretty much all the skills for each of those grades.
