I teach high school students with severe Autism and behavioral issues. I have also worked as a behavior specialist for students with a variety of disabilities.
I try to fill our classroom with realistic activities that the students may see at home or out in the community. Modification and differentiation is key to the students I teach. I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting outside with my students whether it is going for a walk, playing sports, flying kites, playing bocce ball, and other recreational and leisure activities. Since I grew up in such a diverse area, I find it important to expose my students to different cultures and traditions.
