TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught for 11 years. I taught 3rd grade for my first year, kindergarten for 8 years and PreK for 2 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style revolves around the individual needs of my students. As a kindergarten teacher I find hands on, interactive lessons are particularly well received by my students. I enthusiastically engage students as I address different learning styles and needs with each lesson. My goal is to have my students achieve academic success, build self confidence, and learn to treat others with respect and empathy. I believe it is critical to stay on top of the latest methodologies and techniques by participating in various professional development opportunities and constantly critiquing and improving my own lesson plans and delivery methods. I also pride myself on building meaningful relationships with my students. An atmosphere that is honest, open, and respectful will ensure that my students know that I understand and respect them. I want my students to be successful socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. “The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.” Robert M. Hutchins
