I was a substitute teacher for grades K-12 for three years prior to becoming a full-time teacher. I taught 4th grade for one year, 5th grade for three years, 9th grade (math) for one year, and currently teaching 6th grade math.
I make math fun! I love to joke around with my students and make them feel comfortable while learning. As a former student, I know what it's like to struggle and not have a teacher care enough to help you overcome confusion. I dedicate my life and spare time to create resources that I know will enrich the academics of all of my students.
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society & MATH-UP (Honor graduate program)
I spent 9 1/2 years in college with a major in education, specializing in mathematics. My graduate program itself was an honors program designed to train educators to teach mathematics to children in high-poverty areas.
I am conversational in American Sign Language. I type 95-100 words per minute and one day I hope to become a principal of an elementary or middle school.
