Sara and Vanessa

Sara has been teaching for seven years in an inner city school located in Central Illinois. For those seven years she has been teaching the fourth grade. Before earning her degree she student taught in fifth grade and had internships from first through fourth grade. She also worked as a substitute teacher for three months after graduation and a private tutor. Vanessa has had experiences working in inner city schools in both Illinois and Kentucky. Before she came to work as a classroom teacher in the fourth grade she was a teacher assistant for Pre-K.

We both have a very hands approach to learning. We love to see our students up moving around the room being engaged in their lessons. We use the Daily Five for our reading block and develop our own created centers for math based on the CCSS. We love to integrate technology into our lessons and work very hard at instructing our students on using these tools.

Sara has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education with middle school endorsements in Language Arts and in Social Science. Vanessa has a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education.
