I have been involved in education for over thirteen years. My roles have varied from special needs aid to Title I ESL teacher to 4th grade. Now I am an education entrepreneur, focusing on private tutoring, educational and standards-based games, blogging, and lessons that can be used in a mainstream classroom but aid ESL students.
I work hard to give students the educational tools and skills that they need in order to gain ownership and independence over their learning. Plus if I can find ways to incorporate theatre, David Bowie, Shakespeare, of the awesomeness of the Irish - then I try to do that too.
Game Company - Standards R Fun -- 1st U.S.History Bingo game won Creative Child Magazine's Game of the Year in 2010 and 2011.
As an older sister to four younger siblings, I guess you could say my educational history started at a very young age. Through the years I have been a part of education in formal and informal settings. I myself love to learn and I suppose that it gets contagious to the people I help teach. At least I hope.
I own a private tutoring company and an educational game company - Standards R Fun ( http://www.standardsrfun.com ) I have an educational blog - Education Short List http://www.educationshortlist.com I am also an admin for the TPT blog, Teacher 2 Teacher http://www.tchr2tchr.blogspot.com - you should come and check these resources out.
