TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching goal is to give students something 'more to take home than homework.' My products incorporate real world connections with fun design elements. With seven years of experience, I currently teach seventh and eighth grade English.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Depending on the day, you may find my kids dancing to great jams, writing, reading, and learning (of course)! The best type of learning is when it doesn't feel like job; so I try to make lessons come alive. A big part of this is getting students moving and incorporating modern culture into lessons. I truly love my students, and want to meet them where they are at academically, socially, and spiritually. I try hard to make the literature we read in class come alive, and help them to identify with characters and situations.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My husband and I live in NC with our adorable twin boys and a third on the way. I'm more or less an old soul; for me, it doesn't get much better than a cup of tea and knitting night. I also love 'the great outdoors' and try to ski as much as possible.
