Dr. Felicia has over 25 years in education serving on the elementary, middle, high school, community college and university levels. For approximately eight years, Dr. Felicia served as an English as a Second Language teacher on the elementary, middle school, and community college levels. Dr. Felicia worked as a gifted teacher for about 2-3 years, and as a reading interventionist for 2 years. On the middle and high school levels, she has taught social studies, English, and a high school elective. For over three years, she taught in the CUIN department within the School of Education, and she evaluated pre-service teachers statewide. Presenting and facilitating professional development sessions is her passion, and she has presented educational research in Hawaii and Calgary, Alberta Canada.

Born in the South, Dr. Felicia was educated in the public school systems of the Carolinas. A graduate of NCCU, she furthered her education at The Ohio State University. As an educator for approximately 29 years, she has served on various committees and several job positions ranging from elementary school to the university. A National Board Teacher, Dr. Felicia has facilitated numerous professional development sessions and educational conferences statewide and internationally. An aspiring author and actress, she has published numerous educational articles and books including: Under the Juniper Tree, Little Fee Fee and the Jeebie Jeebie Bees, and There's a FunGus among us. She is the eldest of 4 daughters, and she loves her family, which includes a brother-in-law, and her mother. Her father, Pastor Lloyd, transitioned February 2022, and she honors his legacy as a pioneer at Duke University School of Divinity. She enjoys music, cooking, drawing, creative writing, and arts and crafts.
