TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my ninth year of teaching middle school Reading and Writing! I teach a Balanced Literacy curriculum, encouraging choice in independent reading. Being in Texas, my materials are mostly TEKS based, but are easily adaptable. I am an avid reader and love Young Adult Lit, so I try to share that passion of reading with my students!

I love college football, and my husband and I love going to games with our friends in the fall where we have season tickets! I am always reading and hunting for the next great book. I love teaching, and I am always hoping to grow my knowledge of the content and how to make my classroom and teaching a meaningful, challenging, and inspiring space.
