I have experience in and have taught SPECIAL EDUCATION since August 2009. I primarily worked with Kindergarten and First Grade students who had a mild cognitive delay, along with delayed adaptive skills.
I find that correctly leveled learning materials foster more participation, eagerness to learn, and understanding among students. Hopefully my materials will have a level for you to choose that will best fit your students!

WHAT we SELL: Purple Elephant Prints provides necessary educational items that can support standards-based curriculum in the elementary primary grades or at home. All are INSTANT DOWNLOADS that you can have immediately to put to use in your classroom or home. STORE BACKGROUND: First off, I love creating printables for my classroom to engage learning and promote participation. I wanted to share activities that fellow teachers and moms could use to make learning more fun for their children. PURPLE ELEPHANT PRINTS came about because of several influences. My favorite color is purple and the color also represents LOYALTY and AMBITION. To be a teacher you must be loyal to the career. It takes time and a lot of ambition to keep motivated through all the craziness. Next, elephants are patient, strong, and wise. These are all traits of a successful teacher: PATIENT with children and their learning, a STRONG leader for his/her classroom, and WISE to know that it is not only reading, writing, and math that is taught in the classroom. ABOUT ME: I taught Special Education for 3 years in a Kindergarten/1st grade Mild Intellectual & Cross Categorical Disabilities classroom. The past two years I have been working with the same school district in the Professional Development Department being a guest teacher in Kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms, general and special education. It has been an adventure, to say the least! I have learned and grown so much from these experiences. I have been married since March 2009 and we have a Belgian Malinois named Scout. :)
