I've taught special education and general education classes at nearly every grade level, and I occasionally write curriculum for schools and not-for-profits. I also mentor new public school teachers through the City College of New York.
I work with a lot of English language learners and students with disabilities, and it has always been a challenge to find intellectually challenging, yet accessible texts. I ended up writing my own, which brought me here.
There is no greater honor than hearing from a student who hasn't forgotten your class after many years. Getting that Facebook message from a student I haven't seen in years brightens my entire month!
I earned a BA in Philosophy at Boston University, then an MS in Special Education from Hunter College as part of the New York City Teaching Fellows.
I'm very happily married to a wonderful and supportive wife named Alana. We live in Brooklyn.
