I have been a middle school science teacher since 2013 and high school teacher at night to prospective high school graduates. Since 2011, I have been an regents earth science tutor as well.
I believe that students learn best from teachers brimming with passion and from curricula that puts the learning in their hands. An educational experience that ignites a child's innate curiosity hands them the keys to open many doors, setting the stage for untold growth and opportunity.

I have led and co-led a wide variety of district initiatives to promote STEM education, and led the successful implementation of NGSS-aligned curricula through Amplify Science. Currently, I am my building's district science liaison where I attend professional development on all things middle school NGSS implementation. I am currently working with science grade teams to implement the new NYS science investigations. In my spare time, I engage in deep analyses of our science program to ensure its alignment with the three dimensions of science learning. In my analysis, it is clear that Amplify Science's program requires significant reworking to meet all the dimensions, and am working with school leadership to create the time and space necessary to carry out those revisions.
