I have seen and learned a lot as an art teacher and I want to share it with you! I have been an art teacher since 1998. I have taught kindergartners, high schoolers and everyone in between and beyond. I have taught in rural Illinois, urban Chicago, and suburbia. I have literally done it all when it comes to art education. I have taught at libraries, park districts, and out on a curb. I owned my own art studio, all while staying in the public schools and even the private ones! I currently teach K-8. My students have been recognized for their achievements at many local, state, and national levels. I have been published in SchoolArts, and have illustrated children's books and many education resources.
I love routine! I spend a lot of time creating resources and lessons that help students get the most out of their one hour of art class. I also create a lot of mini lessons that are part of a bigger picture. It is the most rewarding when students take what they have learned and put it into practice.
