TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This will be my 12th year of teaching and I am definitely an upper-elementary teacher having taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I have taught in Virginia and Florida and have worked with Special Education, ESL, and gifted students (many times all in one class). Can't imagine doing anything else!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very organized teacher and feel that many students thrive in my class because of it. Many of my uploads are "menus" and "contracts" that I have created to keep students on task while meeting with small reading groups. This maximizes time and keeps students working on authentic tasks. I have incorporated Daily 5 and Jan Richardson's reading ideas into my work. I love children and love learning!
