TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught high school and junior college Spanish for 21 years. I specialize in material/curriculum creation for high school level Spanish immersion classes. My materials are focused on ACTFL standards and are designed to help students gain confidence and fluency through authentic contextual repetition.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach 90-100% in target language with a focus on both building proficiency in the language itself as well as gaining a strong cultural foundation. I aim to prepare students to be culturally compassionate and knowledgeable Spanish speakers as well as to pass the both the Seal of Bi-Literacy test and the Advanced Placement test.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I love to teach and have spent my entire professional life developing skills to help students learn. Although I've earned awards, I believe that my passion for young people and bilingualism are what drive me.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's in Spanish and a Master's in Educational Leadership. I lived in Granada, Spain during college and have taught all levels of Spanish during my career.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I teach Zumba fitness and love to incorporate Latin music into my lessons to help students fall in love with everything Latino!
