When I was in second grade I had the greatest teacher in the whole wide world. She was inspirational to me and I knew when I grew up I wanted to be just like Mrs. Hattin. In her second grade class is where I started my teacher training and today I still hope to be the teacher that she was. I am currently in the middle of my eleventh year teaching first grade and I can honestly say I love my job.
I believe in educating children, not training them. Therefore I try to use methods and elements in my teaching that will impact children's desire to learn more and make them actually think. I believe in team work, creativity, and utilizing multiple intelligences to reach the little ones I have the pleasure of teaching. Laugh while you learn to love learning is what I say!
A few of my first graders have named me "The Best Teacher in the Whole Wide World" if that means anything... wink, wink.
