I have taught kindergarten for 9 years.
Many (not all) of the products I make are geared toward learning centers and small groups (set of 6). My teaching style could be described as enthusiastic and flexible but I also have structure and routine. My classroom is engaging, motivating, encouraging, and welcoming.
My most memorable moment as a teacher was my first year in teaching. We had a kindergarten graduation at the end of the year and my principal stood up in front of families and thanked me for working with a particular student who was a huge challenge. Due to the behavior issues, he was not making the necessary academic progress to successfully move on to the next grade level. He was moved out of a teacher's classroom who struggled managing his behavior and into my room. After providing the student with an individualized behavior plan, accommodations, and other supports, he was able to make meet end of year goals to move on to first grade. I felt very proud to be a part of the student's success and recognized by my principal for all of my efforts!
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education: Mild Interventions (K-6), with a minor in Reading. I also have my masters in Response to Intervention with a focus in Reading and Behavior.
I have taught kindergarten for 10 years and I LOVE my job!!! I really enjoy making activities and materials to match the curriculum themes in my classroom and the needs of my students. I take a lot of time to make things so I figured I would share with other educators to save you time and money. I hope you find good use out of the things you purchase! :)
