For almost 20 years, I've had the honor being an Exceptional Education (Special Education) teacher in Georgia. I have worked with ages from Pre-K to 8th grade, but I will say that middle school is my jam for sure. Middle Schoolers are a VERY special bunch <3 I have worked in many Ex. Ed. models, including Self-Contained, Resource, and Co-Teaching. I've taught all 4 content areas, but as you can see from my store, I enjoy teaching Math the most.
In the *disclaimer* on with math videos, it states that they are foundational content, to be used as introductory videos. I am a firm believer in making sure that the beginning of learning a new concept is broken down for students. If it is something they should have learned last year, then a review is needed before moving on. Houses need firm foundations and so do students.
My peers voted me school-level Teacher of the Year in 2009-2010 and again in 2019-2020.
I earned a Masters in Education with a focus in Learning Disabilities & Behavioral Disorders from Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. I am highly qualified in K-8th in all content areas as an Exceptional Education teacher.
Although Special Education and Math were my first loves, PBIS has become my most recent love (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports). I am in my 4th year of being PBIS Coach at my current middle school and am always ready to discuss PBIS with peers who are looking to improve climate and culture at their own schools.
