I have taught 4th grade math for the last 7 years. I started creating paint files to replace lesson plans and have now created over 250 paint files which I use in the classroom every day. These files guide my instruction and make lesson planning easy. Now I want to share them with you!
My teaching style focuses on creating self reflective learners who are engaged, excited, and determined in the classroom. I focus my daily instruction on incorporating components that support different styles of learning, including auditory, kinesthetic, visual, and interpersonal. I believe that developing mutual respect and rapport with my students is the foundation for being an effective teacher. I think that learning should be fun and exciting and that school should be a safe, supportive, and comfortable place for students in order for them to achieve academic success.
My greatest achievements include: -less than 10 absences in 7 years -10,000+ handshakes -500+ students -3,500+ lessons taught -directing an intramural basketball program for students -giving professional development to my peers -being a positive male role model for students who might not have one at home -teaching underprivileged students in underprivileged communities
