I had the privilege of being a 2nd grade teacher for two years, and a 4th and 5th grade science teacher for three years. As a 2nd grade teacher, I fostered a love for learning and watched my students eagerly absorb knowledge. From teaching basic math skills to introducing the wonders of reading, I celebrated their victories, both big and small. As a 4th and 5th Grade science teacher, we embarked on thrilling experiments, dissected fascinating organisms, and explored the natural wonders around us. Together, we cultivated a classroom where inquiry, exploration, and discovery were at the forefront of our journey. Throughout my time as a teacher, I witnessed the transformation of my students into confident, inquisitive young minds. They developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and its interconnectedness. Their enthusiasm was contagious, as they eagerly shared their newfound knowledge with their peers and families. The opportunity to mold young minds, to ignite their curiosity, and to watch them grow into independent thinkers has been an immeasurable privilege.
My teaching style is characterized by fostering an engaging and interactive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the diverse needs of my students, incorporating a variety of teaching methods, such as visual aids, group discussions, and experiential activities. I strive to create a safe and inclusive classroom where students feel empowered to ask questions, express their thoughts, and actively participate in their own learning journey. By cultivating a love for learning and promoting independent thinking, I aim to inspire my students to become lifelong learners and confident individuals.
