Over the past 19 years of teaching Chemistry, I have mentored numerous teachers, presented Best Practices and helped teachers from various parts of the world.
According to my students I take extremely hard material and somehow make that stuff "make sense." I have a unique ability to create conventions that are just easier to understand. I take very abstract concepts and make them concrete. I use nonverbal cues that elicit whole group oral response. Then, I use those verbal responses to bring students to an understanding of the concept. Maybe I am not as good as I think, but every time I ask students to compare what I am doing to other conventions, they say I am just easier to understand and what I say "makes sense." I want to share those conventions with you and watch as they transform you into the best version of yourself.
My greatest awards are hundreds of emails, note cards, and thank you letters from students expressing how happy there were to have actually "understood chemistry." I will take a sincere compliment from a former student over any teaching award.
I have a BS of Education from Arkansas Tech and 18 years of teaching experience. Here is what I want to say here. If you want a bunch of re-printable worksheets that have solution manuals you're in the wrong place. I do provide test and worksheets with solutions but those are not what will make you better. What I am offering is a library of videos that walk you through exactly how to work the problems, explain what you're doing, and tie that into real world scenarios. Nobody has time to read through endless solution guides. Watch my videos and you will quickly gain a mastery level understanding of content. Then, you can use the worksheets and tests to practice for yourself and with your students. Also, I am going to provide some videos that are for students so if you are ever just fatigued and need a day off or if you have a sub, you can pop in one of my videos for students and allow your students to hear me teach the content. Those videos will also have problems for the students to work and answer keys.
When I began teaching Chemistry I was awful. In fact, I might have been the worst teacher in the history of teaching. I just kept working at it. Over time, I found new and better ways of connecting with kids. I found ways to make my class more interactive and more engaging. Finally, I have "borrowed" every good and great idea and added it to my arsenal of teaching. Some of my conventions I have learned from other teachers. Others I have created on my own. Many things I do you will never see in a high school or college text book but they work. If you buy my bundle you will have a year's worth of lessons. You can watch my videos and quickly gain a mastery level understanding. Then use my other resources such as test, worksheets, and nonverbal cues to create a dynamic exciting experience for you and your students.
