I began my teaching experience when I was just a child. I always wanted to be a teacher...so much so that I played "teacher" growing up. I would bring my older brother and my little sister to my make-shift classroom (located in the kitchen), and teach them math, reading, and science. Happiness radiated from me. Now that I am older, playing teacher has become a reality for me. I enjoyed my student teaching with first graders, and my first job working with 4th graders. I soon realized though that my passion was with science. So, I began teaching crazy but lovable 7th graders.
Every child has their own way they learn. My teaching style tries to address all needs. I lecture, I use visuals, I use hands on material, I use discovery lessons, and I try to corporate as much cross-curricular material that I can. That being said, I believe in structure no matter the activity for the best learning to take place.
I graduated from BYU-Idaho with highest honors (4.0).
My degree is a BS in Elementary Education with a science endorsement. Was NREMT
Like most of you, teaching is a passion for me. My heart jumps for joy every time a student asks a great question or understands a concept. I don't have my own kiddos yet, but I can't wait for the daily moments where I get to teach them too.
