I always thought I would teach first grade and that was always my dream. I spent one year in first grade in Massachusetts and loved it after I graduated but came back to Rhode Island to find a job teaching here closet to family. I ended up finding a Pre-school Special Education position and took it to "get my foot in the door"... needless to say I fell IN LOVE. I loved every piece of differentiating for each of my students, seeing them progress through milestones, creating an environment that they loved to be in, and helping them reach their goals. I began creating my own materials for my students awhile ago and have always been asked to share by my co-workers.. so I decided to share them for all here! I hope you enjoy my products. Please feel free to use them however works best for you in your classroom!
I believe that a child can only progress and reach their goals with an environment and team who cater to their individual needs. I strive to create a calming classroom environment with low lights, comfy seating, calming music, and yoga time! My kids have all loved yoga and breathing time and we always take time to talk about and recognize our feelings and then find ways to help ourselves deal with that feeling. Teaching a child in preschool is based around play and engagement with peers. I create resources that allow students to learn through play to make learning fun!
