I would have to say in my 5 years of teaching, I am a well seasoned teacher. I have taught 2nd grade and Kindergarten as a homeroom teacher. In addition, for the past 3 years I have served at-risk students in reading and math in grades 1-5. This upcoming year, I will have my own homeroom again in 4th grade. Where I teach, 4th and 5th grade are departmentalized, so I will mainly be teaching 4th grade Social Studies. I have noticed the limited amount of resources and plan to contribute my creations to my store.
Working with at-risk kids for the past 3 years, I really enjoy hands-on learning. I am not against worksheets, but I try to stray away from them as much as possible. I know that teaching 4th grade Social Studies this year, there will be times where we will have to use worksheets. I just do not want my students to experience the lecture and note based class that I experienced as a student. I want them to be provided with meaningful and memorable experiences that will allow them to enjoy Social Studies.

I would definitely say that I am a life-long learner. I received my Bachelors in Early Childhood from the University of West Georgia in 2008. I received my Masters degree in Early Childhood from Piedmont College in 2011. I recently graduated May 2013 with my Specialists in Teaching Leadership form Piedmont College. Maybe one day I will strive to get my Doctorate degree, but for now I just want to learn as much as I can through my teaching experience :)
I am 28 years old. I love teaching and could not imagine doing anything else. In my spare time I like traveling, watching movies, making creations, and spending time with my friends and family.
