I've been teaching since 2000. I taught sheltered 6th grade in a low-income district near Chicago for 4 years, and 3rd and 4th grade for two years. I also taught 2nd and 3rd grade summer school. I earned National Board Certification in 2008. Since 2007, I've been working as an ESL/ELL specialist teacher for K-5. I do both small group (pull-out) teaching as well as co-teaching in regular classrooms.
My teaching style involves encouraging a lot of student participation. My students use cooperative learning activities throughout the day. My materials are for use with small groups or large groups. I tend to incorporate fun graphics to get students excited about their assignments.
