This is a project that could be completed at the end of a unit on the Odyssey, or partway through after Odysseus has returned to Ithaca. It requires students to create a travel guide (brochure) advertising a cruise to the places of the Odyssey.
After reading the poetry of Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson and learning about free verse, parallel construction and cadence (Whitman) and slant rhyme, rhyme scheme and imagery (Dickinson), students prepare this final assessment.
