TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for the last five years. Throughout my experiences I have also gained my National Board certification as well as my masters in educational leadership. Some of my passions in education is the development of inquiry through research, disciplinary literacy, student movement, and equity driven curriculum.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Although I believe there are always moments to engage in traditional lecture I know that student engagement is the key to supporting students in developing comprehension and mastery of content. To encourage student ownership of learning much of my curriculum includes projects, activities, simulations, and opportunities for students to learn independently and from each other. I believe my role as an educator is to be a facilitator and a co-learner rather than a traditional "sage on a stage" teacher.
