I started teaching math in 1976. My teaching career started in middle school, teaching grades 6 through 8. After three years, I moved up to high school where I taught until I retired in June 2019. I've taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Integrated Mathematics 1, Integrated Mathematics 3, Financial Algebra. I was the math department chair for 20 years and also provided professional development workshops.
I used a variety of methods - direct instruction with structured notes, discovery-based learning, guided practice, independent practice, real-world applications, projects, graphic organizers and fun activities. I always tried to make learning fun and engaging while imparting content knowledge.

My passions, besides teaching math, are spending time with family and friends, traveling, cruising, dancing, golfing, scrapbooking, watching design shows, and all things about the universe. I love dogs and rescued two retired racing greyhounds. They were amazing! I miss their fun personalities and hope to rescue a few more again in the future. Looking forward to connecting with fellow teachers that share similar passions.
